Hello 2 0 2 0 ~
Is been so long from the last post that I blogged and this is my first post for the year 2020. Blame me for being too lazy to transfer photos and don't have the mood to blog. Anyway, I really prayed that the upcoming months of 2020 will be a better month for all! I believe the majority of us are looking forward to 2020 since last year and thought it would be a better year, however, it is NOT! Especially with this Covid-19 pandemic issue! So many good plans are ruined.. such as people who want to travel - have to cancel their trip, people who want to get married - have to postpone the dates, people who want to travel to meet their loved ones - have to delay the dates. and from the news -people who want to go back to attend their loved one's funeral only can stay a few hours and go back to quarantine centre or the country they fled from. etc etc so sad wey!
Can this virus please go away as soon as possible?!!!!
Hmm...I suppose to go say bye-bye to Singaland on the 16th April to go back Malaysia settle down however due to this pandemic I have requested to extend my employment here and change my last working date to 30th June. Thankfully, the employer was kind enough to extend me till that date. Therefore I'm now still in Singaland. Luckily I able to change my flight ticket to the beginning of July without wasting the ticket which I paid for with the luggage allowances price~
*I prayed by then I can fly safely back to Malaysia (Home)*
At the beginning of April, SG started the circuit breaker period till 4th May 2020 to control the Covid-19 situation however the infected number spiked up, therefore, SG government has decided to extend the circuit breaker period till 1st June 2020 (whereas Malaysia is locked down since 18th March and extended the MCO five times till 9th June) Up till today's date, is almost 2 months, I been working from home room herein SG. Not really fun working away from the office for so long~ If you say is the home in Malaysia then it will be different. but get stuck here without bf and family members is not a nice experience. But I'm thankful that I have little sis with me :D if not both of us will go cuckoo without entertaining each other ~ in this period of time, we also realize that almost every day we are video calling our loved ones too~ <3 Prayed for the best for the upcoming months in 2020 where all can go back and visit their loved ones and spend time with them ~
Around mid-May receive news that all pre-school staff will have to go through Swab test for Covid-19 before going back to school to work on the 2nd June. After hearing that news, I'm so scared until I lost my appetite to eat my dinner that day. Hahahaha... I guess I watched too much video in Youtube n Google about the Swab Test how they going to insert the swab into the nostrils till the back n imagine a lot of nonsense about that test. On the 26th May -received the appointment letter from school management and my appointment is scheduled on the 27th May 2020, Wednesday.
My appointment for the swab test is scheduled at 10.45am but I wake up extra early that day to prep myself and head to MRT station to get to the pickup point. I recorded a short video while walking to the MRT.
It is so empty!
My swab test is scheduled to the East zone swabbing centre, which I have to go to Tampines West MRT (the designated pick up point) to take the authorised shuttle bus to the swabbing centre at Temasek Polytechnic. *Everyone has to take the authorised shuttle bus to the swabbing centre*
I reached there about 9+ when my appointment is only at 10.45am hahaha. too nervous I guess? Then bump into school support staff, Andi, and he told me that the test is painful. *OMG, make me more nervous and make me start to think of the process before I even reach the centre* I told him that I reached way earlier than my scheduled time and he mentioned to me that can just proceed to the line, the staff there will check your temperature and scan your ID card before you board the bus. so I just go ahead since I am there so early ~
After the 1st staff took my temperature, they stick a white sticker on my shoulder for indication and another staff is there to scan my ID card (work pass) to check in the site. After this process, there is another staff allow you to board the bus with social distancing seating. Only one person is allowed to sit on the 2 seaters place. No side by side seating. On the way to the centre, I can hear a lot of them are discussing the test etc and all are quite in a tense mood.. hahhaa..
Reached the swabbing centre. It is like an open hall and there are 4 stations set up for the swab test.
Station 1 - Holding Area
Come down from the shuttle bus, there is a staff shows the way to the first station to queue up and emphasize about the social distancing measure. At the first station, have to show my ID card for them to print a label sticker with my personal details on it (Name & FIN no). After that, proceed to the second station.
Station 2 - Registration
At the second station, there are 3 chairs placed vertically in front of the registration counter with 2 staffs there. Since I am not the first one in line when queue up, so I took the last seat in the registration line - 3rd chair. One by one will go to the counter and confirm our name, handphone number, and the staff will ask if you have any previous facial/nose surgeries, or operations through the nose, Ear/Nose/Throat (ENT) conditions, Facial or Skull fractures, Frequent nosebleed conditions, Tumours/cancers of the nose or throat. This is because if the person has this then can't proceed for the swab test. I told the staff that I have a very sensitive nose and last time I have frequent nosebleed as well, and on Wednesday I just had a nosebleed when I blow my nose too hard but it stops after a while. Then he just replies to me - Ok, then he stands up and tells me and the other 2 people in the chair no 1 and 2 please proceed next station. *In my mind like oh no, I become the first one to do the swab test*
Station 3 - Swabbing
Nervously walk to the third station, got one medical staff gives us a brief explanation of the swabbing process and ask if we have any questions. I immediately put up my hand and tell her that my nose is very sensitive hahaha. She says no worries, our doctor will do it very gently and ask me to proceed to the chair and sit down. I was given a tissue to blow my nose before the swab and I again emphasize to the doctor my nose very sensitive. She says the same thing, no worries, I will do gently. hahaha. She asks me to sit straight then she holds the swab and holds the back of my head and she gently says okay, I haven't managed to reply she already start to put the swab into my right nostrils.
*At that moment I cannot think of anything but feel the swab go into my nostrils quite deep and when the swab reach certain part quite deep (posterior wall of the nasopharynx) the doctor rotates the swab in the nostrils and remove from the swab from the nostrils. Then give me a few second to wipe my tears and nose awhile and apply the same process for left nostrils. The feeling is so undescribable - is not painful but not comfy and my eyes automatically turn watery and at the same time nose feel very itchy like want to sneeze feeling, and throat feels like coughing* Luckily the process end quite fast less than 5 mins .. If not I will be crying d hahaha.
Station 4 - Discharge
After completing the swab test, the staff directs me to the last station to wait for the shuttle bus which will drive those that complete the test to go back to the MRT station. Before boarding the shuttle bus, keep wipe my tears and blow my nose hahaha.. because feeling so one kind at that moment and before leaving the last station everyone has to scan the QR code to check out the site.
Here are some photos which I took far away from the bus.
What an experience really.
Now have to wait for the result to release and next week return to the workplace!
*Finger crossed and pray for the result*
June will be the last month of my stay in Singaland - please be good to me okay ~
Let me at least enjoy the last month here and explore a bit more before I go back home!
Better months are ahead!
Please stay safe everyone :)
Till here for today post,
