: :Stir Fried Basil Chicken (Pad Gaprao Gai) : :

Meal for today :
 Stir-Fried Basil Chicken (Pad Gaprao Gai) served with a sunny side up and rice↞

Pad = Stir-Fried
Gaprao = Holy basil
Gai = Chicken

Is been some time since I want to try cooking this dish, and today is the day!

Ingredients:
  • Holy basil leaves (Freshly plucked from my workplace garden, hahaha)
  • Long beans, cut into small pieces
  • 250g minced chicken (you may use any other meat that you prefer)
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • 6-8 red chilies
  • 1 big onion diced
  • Oyster sauce
  • Light soy sauce
  • Dark soy sauce
  • Sugar
  • Pepper
  • Oil
  • Eggs
  • Rice!
Done prepping the ingredients and let's start the cooking!

Instructions:
  1. Heat up the pan with oil and fry the egg first - No need to wash the pan again :) can straight continue to cook the main
  2. Pour a little bit more oil to the same pan and saute the garlic and onion until it turns golden
  3. Add in the minced chicken and stir-fried it till they're no longer in big clumps, add in the sauces - oyster sauce + light soy sauce + dark soy sauce & pepper and continuing tossing until the chicken is almost done
  4. Add in the long beans and chili, toss until the chicken is done
  5. Then add the holy basil to the pan and stir-fried it with the rest of the ingredients
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed (No measurement for the sauces/seasonings, just add based on feeling hahaha.. I add in a little sugar to balance up the taste)
And Tadaa!

 Here is the final product -

: : 23 Days to Home : :

Counting down to the day to be Home ~
Last 23 days in Singaland ~
Woohoo woohoo!
Even though I cannot explore the city before my departure but at least I can enjoy my last few weeks at my workplace. My replacement has joined since last week and I have started to hand over almost all my tasks/responsibilities to her. And I have 2 more annual leave to clear, still in dilemma which date should I clear it. la la la ~

-Wearing mask before leaving the house is a norm now-
But but but...
 that is not the upmost headache thing for me now
The most headache part is that there are no proper guidelines for me to refer to. Since last month, I had been keeping myself updated with the Malaysia news of what Malaysians have to do/need to apply and all before returning to the home country. The rules keep changing and I can't find any official site that reports the updated steps that returning Malaysian need to adhere to. Whenever Google about the guidelines mostly is all from the news. Don't know which is the most accurate one coz different media reports differently. and earlier noon only left a comment at the Embassy page in FB about my inquiry, hopefully, they will reply to me. *P.s for those who know where I can get all this information, kindly share the link with me, appreciate it much!*

Last month while I was going through the news to get more info to return to Malaysia, the news was reporting that beginning June 1, all returning Malaysian from oversea have to bear 50% the cost of hotel accommodation for the mandatory Covid-19 quarantine whereas non-Malaysian have to bear 100% of the cost. And to ensure all this cost will be paid by the Malaysian/non-Malaysians, the people will have to obtain a release letter from Malaysian Embassy in respective countries they are at before they are allowed to go back and this release letter will have the condition whereby they have to agree to pay for the accommodation which is 150 per day x 14 days = MYR2,100 for non-Malaysian and Malaysian please pay MYR 1,050 to quarantine/stay in the hotel (regardless of what star hotel) at that time I was like seriously.. citizen going back own country also have to pay? can't believe that... and kind of angry but what to do.. have to pay also to go back home. sign then can go home, no sign cannot go home.. easy as that..  then keep complaining to fiance what is this la.. he keeps telling me that do not worry about that, as I still have one month to go before my departure date. the rules and regulations might change again...maybe nearer to date then no need to pay for anything ~ so I just tell myself lets see when the return date gets nearer ~

and YES!

  on 7th June, Minister releases a new statement that effective 10th June
returning Malaysians can serve the quarantine at home instead of the designated center (or hotel). I'm feeling a little happy about this. However, there are also some conditions applied to this new statement. Whereby returning Malaysians will have to undergo a swab test upon arrival at the airport. If tested Negative only can return home to undergo the compulsory 14 days home quarantine and will be fitted with a wristband for identification purposes. (This means people who tested Negative will have to wear the wristband throughout the 14 days home quarantine period, cannot remove it before the 14th days home quarantine over even you are at home. If those who fail to adhere to this will be brought to court and fined MYR 1,000) and For those who tested Positive will be brought to the hospital for treatment. And Minister also said that those who tested Negative on the first screening will still be tested on the 13th day of the home quarantine, if the result is Negative then the person only deemed to be completely free from the virus. so many times of swab.. oh my gawddd...

Ahhh... I don't like the swab test feeling le...make me feel uneasy now to think of it that I need to go through again the test... but the swab test mentioned in the news is a different kind of swab test.. not the one I recently did before because found news name the swab test as Rapid Test Kid Antigen (RTK Antigen) method and the result can get within one to 2 hours? *I Googled it and the kit looks different from the one I did in SG last month (You can read my recent swab experience here ; result come out after few days we returns to the workplace- my working branch all is tested Negative)*  Unless it is a special case then the result will take a longer time like 2 days then the people will be sent to quarantined at designated area till the result is out only can head home. and if the person have to go quarantine at the designated area to wait for their result,  he/she will have to bear the quarantine cost .. Seriously?! pay again!?

  And about the wristband, previously my sister n I thought the wristband will be electronic kind whereby the band will beep or the authorized person can detect where is your location, etc when you step out of your house.. or a wristband which looks like handcuff which you cant remove it easilyo. hahaha..but when saw some people posted in social media only know is non-electronic kind of wristband. is like those wristband patients wear in the hospital .. then later when I read more news only realize that actually, those authority people will monitor the returning Malaysian movement through the apps call MySejahtera.. hahaa.. I just downloaded the apps however haven't log in the apps to explore because the apps require the Malaysia mobile number. and I'm sure if I enter my Malaysia number they will send a TAC number to my Malaysia mobile number then If I switch my sim card now. I guess my Malaysia phone bill will shoot up due to I been requesting TAC for several things.. hahhaa.. this I will do it when I touched down Malaysia airport.

Another thing that makes me worry is that PG airport still remained closed and not accepting any international flight except for domestic flights. If by end of June still no updates of the opening, I guess I cant direct flight back to PG and have to call up to check if the airline can help to change my flight destination to KL first only take a domestic flight back to PG. *Finger crossed that the JetStar won't suddenly release another statement saying that they will extend their temporary suspension of the
scheduled services. Because the latest update on the page is mentioned until 30th June only.* I really hope they don't do any extension anymore. then I can start packing my stuff by the end of the month and ready to go home. bought 40kg luggage allowances but I still doubt if my stuff all only weighs 40kg hahaa.. if not I will need to ask for sis help to bring some back when she returns to PG.. instead I bring all one shot.

Prayed that everything will get better S O O N!
I really want to go home :)
And
Can't wait to go out without a facial mask and breathe in the natural air instead of own carbon dioxide!
