: :Stir Fried Basil Chicken (Pad Gaprao Gai) : :

Meal for today :
Stir-Fried Basil Chicken (Pad Gaprao Gai) served with a sunny side up and rice↞

Pad = Stir-Fried
Gaprao = Holy basil
Gai = Chicken

Is been some time since I want to try cooking this dish, and today is the day!

Ingredients:
  • Holy basil leaves (Freshly plucked from my workplace garden, hahaha)
  • Long beans, cut into small pieces
  • 250g minced chicken (you may use any other meat that you prefer)
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • 6-8 red chilies
  • 1 big onion diced
  • Oyster sauce
  • Light soy sauce
  • Dark soy sauce
  • Sugar
  • Pepper
  • Oil
  • Eggs
  • Rice!
Done prepping the ingredients and let's start the cooking!

Instructions:
  1. Heat up the pan with oil and fry the egg first - No need to wash the pan again :) can straight continue to cook the main
  2. Pour a little bit more oil to the same pan and saute the garlic and onion until it turns golden
  3. Add in the minced chicken and stir-fried it till they're no longer in big clumps, add in the sauces - oyster sauce + light soy sauce + dark soy sauce & pepper and continuing tossing until the chicken is almost done
  4. Add in the long beans and chili, toss until the chicken is done
  5. Then add the holy basil to the pan and stir-fried it with the rest of the ingredients
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed (No measurement for the sauces/seasonings, just add based on feeling hahaha.. I add in a little sugar to balance up the taste)
And Tadaa!

Here is the final product -
Pad Gaprao Gai for my sister and I~

 A close-up photo of it
Even though we do not have the fish sauce but the taste is still so good~
Aroi mak mak!
Hahaha, sis even said better than the one she bought in the food court :D (feeling a little proud)

Till here for today's post ~
First cooking post in this space.

: : 23 Days to Home : :

Counting down to the day to be Home ~
Last 23 days in Singaland ~
Woohoo woohoo!
Even though I cannot explore the city before my departure but at least I can enjoy my last few weeks at my workplace. My replacement has joined since last week and I have started to hand over almost all my tasks/responsibilities to her. And I have 2 more annual leave to clear, still in dilemma which date should I clear it. la la la ~

-Wearing mask before leaving the house is a norm now-
But but but...
that is not the upmost headache thing for me now
The most headache part is that there are no proper guidelines for me to refer to. Since last month, I had been keeping myself updated with the Malaysia news of what Malaysians have to do/need to apply and all before returning to the home country. The rules keep changing and I can't find any official site that reports the updated steps that returning Malaysian need to adhere to. Whenever Google about the guidelines mostly is all from the news. Don't know which is the most accurate one coz different media reports differently. and earlier noon only left a comment at the Embassy page in FB about my inquiry, hopefully, they will reply to me. *P.s for those who know where I can get all this information, kindly share the link with me, appreciate it much!*

Last month while I was going through the news to get more info to return to Malaysia, the news was reporting that beginning June 1, all returning Malaysian from oversea have to bear 50% the cost of hotel accommodation for the mandatory Covid-19 quarantine whereas non-Malaysian have to bear 100% of the cost. And to ensure all this cost will be paid by the Malaysian/non-Malaysians, the people will have to obtain a release letter from Malaysian Embassy in respective countries they are at before they are allowed to go back and this release letter will have the condition whereby they have to agree to pay for the accommodation which is 150 per day x 14 days = MYR2,100 for non-Malaysian and Malaysian please pay MYR 1,050 to quarantine/stay in the hotel (regardless of what star hotel) at that time I was like seriously.. citizen going back own country also have to pay? can't believe that... and kind of angry but what to do.. have to pay also to go back home. sign then can go home, no sign cannot go home.. easy as that..  then keep complaining to fiance what is this la.. he keeps telling me that do not worry about that, as I still have one month to go before my departure date. the rules and regulations might change again...maybe nearer to date then no need to pay for anything ~ so I just tell myself lets see when the return date gets nearer ~

and YES!

on 7th June, Minister releases a new statement that effective 10th June
returning Malaysians can serve the quarantine at home instead of the designated center (or hotel). I'm feeling a little happy about this. However, there are also some conditions applied to this new statement. Whereby returning Malaysians will have to undergo a swab test upon arrival at the airport. If tested Negative only can return home to undergo the compulsory 14 days home quarantine and will be fitted with a wristband for identification purposes. (This means people who tested Negative will have to wear the wristband throughout the 14 days home quarantine period, cannot remove it before the 14th days home quarantine over even you are at home. If those who fail to adhere to this will be brought to court and fined MYR 1,000) and For those who tested Positive will be brought to the hospital for treatment. And Minister also said that those who tested Negative on the first screening will still be tested on the 13th day of the home quarantine, if the result is Negative then the person only deemed to be completely free from the virus. so many times of swab.. oh my gawddd...

Ahhh... I don't like the swab test feeling le...make me feel uneasy now to think of it that I need to go through again the test... but the swab test mentioned in the news is a different kind of swab test.. not the one I recently did before because found news name the swab test as Rapid Test Kid Antigen (RTK Antigen) method and the result can get within one to 2 hours? *I Googled it and the kit looks different from the one I did in SG last month (You can read my recent swab experience here ; result come out after few days we returns to the workplace- my working branch all is tested Negative)*  Unless it is a special case then the result will take a longer time like 2 days then the people will be sent to quarantined at designated area till the result is out only can head home. and if the person have to go quarantine at the designated area to wait for their result,  he/she will have to bear the quarantine cost .. Seriously?! pay again!?

And about the wristband, previously my sister n I thought the wristband will be electronic kind whereby the band will beep or the authorized person can detect where is your location, etc when you step out of your house.. or a wristband which looks like handcuff which you cant remove it easilyo. hahaha..but when saw some people posted in social media only know is non-electronic kind of wristband. is like those wristband patients wear in the hospital .. then later when I read more news only realize that actually, those authority people will monitor the returning Malaysian movement through the apps call MySejahtera.. hahaa.. I just downloaded the apps however haven't log in the apps to explore because the apps require the Malaysia mobile number. and I'm sure if I enter my Malaysia number they will send a TAC number to my Malaysia mobile number then If I switch my sim card now. I guess my Malaysia phone bill will shoot up due to I been requesting TAC for several things.. hahhaa.. this I will do it when I touched down Malaysia airport.

Another thing that makes me worry is that PG airport still remained closed and not accepting any international flight except for domestic flights. If by end of June still no updates of the opening, I guess I cant direct flight back to PG and have to call up to check if the airline can help to change my flight destination to KL first only take a domestic flight back to PG. *Finger crossed that the JetStar won't suddenly release another statement saying that they will extend their temporary suspension of the
scheduled services. Because the latest update on the page is mentioned until 30th June only.* I really hope they don't do any extension anymore. then I can start packing my stuff by the end of the month and ready to go home. bought 40kg luggage allowances but I still doubt if my stuff all only weighs 40kg hahaa.. if not I will need to ask for sis help to bring some back when she returns to PG.. instead I bring all one shot.

Prayed that everything will get better S O O N!
I really want to go home :)
And
Can't wait to go out without a facial mask and breathe in the natural air instead of own carbon dioxide!

Till here for today post,

Please be better 2 0 2 0 !

Hello 2 0 2 0 ~

Is been so long from the last post that I blogged and this is my first post for the year 2020. Blame me for being too lazy to transfer photos and don't have the mood to blog. Anyway, I really prayed that the upcoming months of 2020 will be a better month for all! I believe the majority of us are looking forward to 2020 since last year and thought it would be a better year, however, it is NOT! Especially with this Covid-19 pandemic issueSo many good plans are ruined.. such as people who want to travel - have to cancel their trip, people who want to get married - have to postpone the dates, people who want to travel to meet their loved ones - have to delay the dates. and from the news -people who want to go back to attend their loved one's funeral only can stay a few hours and go back to quarantine centre or the country they fled from. etc etc so sad wey!
Can this virus please go away as soon as possible?!!!!

Hmm...I suppose to go say bye-bye to Singaland on the 16th April to go back Malaysia settle down however due to this pandemic I have requested to extend my employment here and change my last working date to 30th June. Thankfully, the employer was kind enough to extend me till that date. Therefore I'm now still in Singaland. Luckily I able to change my flight ticket to the beginning of July without wasting the ticket which I paid for with the luggage allowances price~
*I prayed by then I can fly safely back to Malaysia (Home)*

At the beginning of April, SG started the circuit breaker period till 4th May 2020 to control the Covid-19 situation however the infected number spiked up, therefore, SG government has decided to extend the circuit breaker period till 1st June 2020 (whereas Malaysia is locked down since 18th March and extended the MCO five times till 9th June) Up till today's date, is almost 2 months, I been working from home room herein SG. Not really fun working away from the office for so long~ If you say is the home in Malaysia then it will be different. but get stuck here without bf and family members is not a nice experience. But I'm thankful that I have little sis with me :D if not both of us will go cuckoo without entertaining each other ~ in this period of time, we also realize that almost every day we are video calling our loved ones too~ <3 Prayed for the best for the upcoming months in 2020 where all can go back and visit their loved ones and spend time with them ~

Around mid-May receive news that all pre-school staff will have to go through Swab test for Covid-19 before going back to school to work on the 2nd June. After hearing that news, I'm so scared until I lost my appetite to eat my dinner that day. Hahahaha... I guess I watched too much video in Youtube n Google about the Swab Test how they going to insert the swab into the nostrils till the back n imagine a lot of nonsense about that test. On the 26th May -received the appointment letter from school management and my appointment is scheduled on the 27th May 2020, Wednesday.

My appointment for the swab test is scheduled at 10.45am but I wake up extra early that day to prep myself and head to MRT station to get to the pickup point. I recorded a short video while walking to the MRT.

It is so empty!

My swab test is scheduled to the East zone swabbing centre, which I have to go to Tampines West MRT (the designated pick up point) to take the authorised shuttle bus to the swabbing centre at Temasek Polytechnic. *Everyone has to take the authorised shuttle bus to the swabbing centre*
I reached there about 9+ when my appointment is only at 10.45am hahaha. too nervous I guess? Then bump into school support staff, Andi, and he told me that the test is painful. *OMG, make me more nervous and make me start to think of the process before I even reach the centre* I told him that I reached way earlier than my scheduled time and he mentioned to me that can just proceed to the line, the staff there will check your temperature and scan your ID card before you board the bus. so I just go ahead since I am there so early ~

After the 1st staff took my temperature, they stick a white sticker on my shoulder for indication and another staff is there to scan my ID card (work pass) to check in the site. After this process, there is another staff allow you to board the bus with social distancing seating. Only one person is allowed to sit on the 2 seaters place. No side by side seating. On the way to the centre, I can hear a lot of them are discussing the test etc and all are quite in a tense mood.. hahhaa..

Reached the swabbing centre. It is like an open hall and there are 4 stations set up for the swab test.

Station 1 - Holding Area
Come down from the shuttle bus, there is a staff shows the way to the first station to queue up and emphasize about the social distancing measure. At the first station, have to show my ID card for them to print a label sticker with my personal details on it (Name & FIN no). After that, proceed to the second station.

Station 2 - Registration
At the second station, there are 3 chairs placed vertically in front of the registration counter with 2 staffs there. Since I am not the first one in line when queue up, so I took the last seat in the registration line - 3rd chair. One by one will go to the counter and confirm our name, handphone number, and the staff will ask if you have any previous facial/nose surgeries, or operations through the nose, Ear/Nose/Throat (ENT) conditions, Facial or Skull fractures, Frequent nosebleed conditions, Tumours/cancers of the nose or throat. This is because if the person has this then can't proceed for the swab test. I told the staff that I have a very sensitive nose and last time I have frequent nosebleed as well, and on Wednesday I just had a nosebleed when I blow my nose too hard but it stops after a while. Then he just replies to me - Ok, then he stands up and tells me and the other 2 people in the chair no 1 and 2 please proceed next station. *In my mind like oh no, I become the first one to do the swab test*

Station 3 - Swabbing
Nervously walk to the third station, got one medical staff gives us a brief explanation of the swabbing process and ask if we have any questions. I immediately put up my hand and tell her that my nose is very sensitive hahaha. She says no worries, our doctor will do it very gently and ask me to proceed to the chair and sit down. I was given a tissue to blow my nose before the swab and I again emphasize to the doctor my nose very sensitive. She says the same thing, no worries, I will do gently. hahaha. She asks me to sit straight then she holds the swab and holds the back of my head and she gently says okay, I haven't managed to reply she already start to put the swab into my right nostrils.

*At that moment I cannot think of anything but feel the swab go into my nostrils quite deep and when the swab reach certain part quite deep (posterior wall of the nasopharynx) the doctor rotates the swab in the nostrils and remove from the swab from the nostrils. Then give me a few second to wipe my tears and nose awhile and apply the same process for left nostrils. The feeling is so undescribable - is not painful but not comfy and my eyes automatically turn watery and at the same time nose feel very itchy like want to sneeze feeling, and throat feels like coughing* Luckily the process end quite fast less than 5 mins .. If not I will be crying d hahaha.

Station 4 - Discharge
After completing the swab test, the staff directs me to the last station to wait for the shuttle bus which will drive those that complete the test to go back to the MRT station. Before boarding the shuttle bus, keep wipe my tears and blow my nose hahaha.. because feeling so one kind at that moment and before leaving the last station everyone has to scan the QR code to check out the site.

Here are some photos which I took far away from the bus.

What an experience really.
Now have to wait for the result to release and next week return to the workplace!
*Finger crossed and pray for the result*
June will be the last month of my stay in Singaland - please be good to me okay ~
Let me at least enjoy the last month here and explore a bit more before I go back home!

Better months are ahead!
Please stay safe everyone :)

Till here for today post,

The redemption part is so easy and convenient. Just have to show the person your passport and the Klook voucher and you will get your sim cards. Change it and immediately you have the data to order grab, search map etc. I am satisfied with the speed of the internet to browse almost everything that I need throughout our trip.
You may want to consider this plan for yourself next time :)
Just go to Klook and purchase it. Here is the link to the sim card.
:: Don Mueang International Airport ::
Throughout our trip - we use Grab to go further places and to save our time for next destination
As for the places we heading to are nearby, we will walk there and explore the alleys.

Also just one alley behind the famous Sabx wanton noodle shop and the wholesaler morning market.
Besides, there are a number of massage shops, 7-Eleven, Family mart along the alley before reaching the hotel. So the location is quite win :)

The lobby of the hotel
- the hotel owner must be fans of the kaws and bear brick-
I think got more than 300 pcs of various sizes.

Double room for our stay
Everything is okay except the toilet heater.. need to be patience to adjust the water temperature
After done check-in and put our luggage in the hotel, we walk to Neon Market for dinner :)

:: Mixt Chatuchak ::
For those who want to avoid the hot sun can come in hahaha.. but the price is slightly higher compared to the market stalls and have a number of good cafe/restaurant for you to explore.

After strolling the mall we continue our shopping at the outdoor market but the sun still scorching hot.. and bf suggest to go for the foot massage.
One of the activities that you can't miss when you are in BKK.
-sit back, relax and let them massage for you-
Both of us are satisfied with this massage shop that we went to.. *search through my phone and can't find any photo of the massage shop- only have the below photo hahaa*
The air-conditions is cold enough, the massage lady is so good and the shop provides free-wifi for the customer too :)

At here, we purchase quite a lot of stuff- clothing, bag, shoes, and food hahaha

S a w a d e e k a !
Hello there!

:: Erawan Shine ::

:: After You at Siam Paragon ::
keep seeing a lot of people visiting this cafe and say how nice it is.. so decided to try it out this time.
Upon reaching the cafe, I already see people queueing up with their queue numbers. Luckily we just waited less than 15 mins to get our table. Quite a number of choices to choose from. From toast, shaved ice, pancake to hot beverages and cold beverages.  Besides, they do sell cakes, cookies and the bun with dips which we ate in the flight.
while lining, capture this corner so nice. didn't know this is the table we getting hahaha
while waiting for our order
Our order is here
1) Chocolate mud brownie serves with vanilla ice cream
this is so so so so good.. hahaha. If you are my close friend, you will know I will choose savory snacks compared to sweet dessert.. but this I'm okay :D
2) Lavender Lychee Soda
this is too sweet.. should have order tea hahaha.. all sweet .. I cannot
3) Thai Tea Kakigori
Ummm... for me normal only.. still prefer the cake over this ice. hahhaa
Happy Birthday boo :)
Total damage: 555 Thai baht

After all the sweet stuff, we walk around the grocery place next to After you
All the things are organized so nicely and so attractive... especially the fruit display.. all also I want to buy hahaha.but of coz not. haha.
And we off to our next destination by train..
It is quite convenient though.. you can either buy the ticket through the kiosk machine or the counter whereby the officer there can help you with it if you do not have small change.. convenient and cheaper way to travel around in BKK city..
:: Terminal 21 Mall ::
It is a theme mall, each level brings you to different country :)
quite interesting and a lot of corners to take photos..
Even the toilet design is according to the theme
This is Japan
Welcome to London
We did not buy many things from Terminal 21 mall because the price is at a higher side compared to the night market we went for the past few days. about 6 plus we visited Artbox but it does not impress us at all. just a quick stroll around and took some photos then we walk towards CentralWorld for dinner.

:: CentralwOrld ::
Decided to try the Thai Basil Minced pork rice from foodwOrld
Oh my.. this is so so so good .. hahaa.. even boyfiee say so.. even though is quite spicy for him..
The pork is so good .. till the rice is not enough hahaa..
then we try the
:: Fire Tiger :: bubble tea
the design is so extra but nice la..
the entrance to order the drink
and the area to collect the drinks is from the tiger mouth
Can try this when you are at BKK next time :)
Cheekyboo
since we just shared one plate of the thai basil minced pork rice for dinner
we explore the outside market and bought some street snacks to try.
He chooses this corn stall and we purchase some meatball snacks as well but no photo of that.
We walk around the outside market but nothing much attracts us as well.. then we head to next destination for some snacks and souvenirs shopping at
:: Big C Supermarket ::
Then spotted McD have the new pie and we bought 1 to share. quite nice le.
why Malaysia doesn't sell savory pie.
after the tiring walking today. we go for 2nd round of leg massage at the shop below our hotel.
Still, the one at Chatuchak market is nicer.. haha.. don't know why. but we still enjoy it.. and to end the night .. we bought some toast, snacks from 7-E and family mart to snack on before bedtime
-Day 4-
White Palace Hotel --> Little Zoo Cafe
Little Zoo Cafe --> Icon Siam
Icon Siam --> Neon Talad

We took tuk tuk from our hotel to the Little Zoo Cafe
Hot and scary experience.. hahaa..

This cafe is so cute.. instead of going to the husky dog cafe.. we went to this cafe.. with some exotic pet.. like Raccoon, Meerkat, Huge rabbit, Chinchilla rat, Fennec fox, Hairless guinea pig and few dogs like corgi and cats.

The entrance fee for Adult is 390 baht and Children (height not over 130cm) is 290 baht
By paying this amount you are given 2 choices to choose from
either
1) Drink + Dessert + Socks
or
2) Drink + Souvenir (Soft toys) + Socks
There are a number of toys for you to choose from and the quality is good as well.. not the cheap toy.
The hairless guinea pig
White parrot to welcome you at the entrance of the cafe
Both of us go with the 1st option
-Drink + Dessert + Socks-
before going to the cafe on the 2nd level.
We have to remove our shoe and change to their indoor shoes with the socks
Here is some guideline on most of the cafe table for the guests to read and adhere.
Can you see the meerkat on the girl's hand.. they make a weird sound when they scare.. haha. till now I don't know how to mimic the sound. but I try to carry it after that.. so scary and the meerkat also feel insecure and accidentally scratch on my chest.. painful pun.. haha..
The cafe environment.
Raccoon and corgi are separated in one area and the other animals are separated in another area.
The cute drawings on the wall

The dessert that we choose
-Waffle with berry ice cream is for me and waffle with caramel ice cream for him-
-Strawberry milkshake for Him and Ice Coffee Latte for Me-
When we reach there, most of the pets are sleeping and we enjoy our food while waiting for them to awake.. so you may want to avoid the noontime
The Chihuahua sleeping
Fennec fox
the puppy all so funny.. so sleepy.. just walk towards my dress and sleep on it..
